GD Custom Posts And Taxonomies Tools Pro has 3 widgets in version 3.1, and 2 of those are available in Lite version also. But, here in Pro, these widgets have more options available, so here is the overview of all 3 widgets and screenshots with their admin side showing all options.
Before going into each widget, all widgets have some standard options that are not available in Lite. Display To option allows you to select if widget will be visible to all users and visitors alike, or only to registered and logged in users or only to visitors. Results cache uses database powered caching to store rendered content and save time on rendering each time, especially since these widgets don’t change their output that often. Mark current option will add ‘current’ CSS class to currently active item in the list, so you can style it differently in the theme.
Post Types List
This widget shows the list of links for post types archives. You can control a couple of things as you can see from the image, including cache, visibility and few more display related options.
Both terms cloud and terms list use custom rendering classes and functions from the ones built in WordPress, and these custom ones allow better control over the rendering and provide better styling capabilities behind the scenes, so you can get better visual control for your theme. Beside that, display and cache options are added and for both also, you can select post type to filter terms by (WordPress will not allow you to do that with now available WP functions). If you select post type, links for the terms will include post type in the link, so the posts will be filtered by term and post type.
Main difference between this and cloud widget, is that here you get terms in list for links or as with drop down control. You have extra option to control hierarchy display in the list (if taxonomy is hierarchical). All links for terms will have additional post type parameter if you selected specific post type.
